UNBELIEF
Unbelief is not just "not believing" in the existence of God, but trusting in Him. Believing in Him; with faith that He will provide for you and that His grace & provision is enough. That His death on the Cross fulfilled God's wrath and served as the full atonement of our sins.-- That we can have new life in Him. It is in a way, trusting that He will do all that He said He would and trusting Him with your life. When one walks across a bridge they have faith it will not collapse; that it will get you across to where you need to be; that it is there; that it is secure. You trust it. In the same way to Know God and to experience Him fully we have to trust Him completely with our lives.
John 2 tells the parable of Jesus' first miracle-- turning water into wine. Although the story reveals many things about Christ-- His Kingship; His Priesthood; and His Prophecy, this miracle tells us that Christ will provide abundantly & has authority over material things of this world, as well as beyond.Christ not only provides 6 stone jars holding 20-30 gallons (v. 6), but He " filled them up to the brim." (v. 7). And not only does He provide the wine for the wedding party but the BEST wine: "the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, 'Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.'" (v. 9b-10) Christ not only provides abundantly, but to the brim. He will fill us up with what we need and is always faithful to His promises. He has authority of all things-- in Heaven and on earth.
Similarly, in Matthew 6 Christ promises to provide:
Do Not Be Anxious 25 e“Therefore I tell you, fdo not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 gLook at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. hAre you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his ispan of life?7 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, jeven Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, kO you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For lthe Gentiles seek after all these things, and myour heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But nseek first othe kingdom of God and his righteousness, pand all these things will be added to you.
34 q“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.'"
Do you TRUST Him fully with your life?
