—Jeremiah 33:2-3“Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
Ever wonder "why pray"? Why pray when God has His own will anyway? Does He really hear us? What's the point?
The truth prayer has enormous influence and power. Scripture tells us that the Lord hears us and answers our prayers. Although the answer may not be what we want, it is always the best for us.
According to Dan Hayes, the author of Fireseeds of Spiritual Awakening, prayer is the antidote to sin. It leads to the revival of Christians and massive awakenings to those who do not know Christ. Christ was in constant conversation and prayer with the Father in His lifetime. (Mark 1:35 & Mark 6:46)
Mark 1:35
35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
What is significant about this? INTIMACY with the Father.46 After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray.Mark 6:46
It reflects a relational trust. Jesus went to the Father in prayer before acting. He turned to Him for comfort and guidance. It was out of love that Jesus made requests to the Father, it was out of love that Jesus spent time alone with Him.
Think of the person closest to-- the person you share the most with. You go to them with what happened during your day, your joys, your sorrows, your triumphs, your persecutions. If you are in a bind you ask for their help. If you need advice you seek it from them. And sometimes you just need to VENT!!! you do all those out of love and trust. In the same way that is why we must pray. It displays faithfulness-- a love and respect for the Father. and trust in Christ as a friend.
Although God doesn't need us, we need Him and through prayer we can communicate our joys, concerns, or whatever is on our minds'. It is about taking steps of faith and giving time to a valuable relationship. If you love someone and cherish them, you spend and dedicate time with them right? You don't ignore them or exclude them from what is going on in your life. God expects the same from us, especially to know Him more deeply and to be more intimate with Him. I believe God rejoices when we talk to Him.

Matthew 7:7-11
7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!1 John 5:14-15
14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
God is dying to talk to you today-- to be alone with you. To spend time with you and love you and have your attention. Don't you think He deserves it?
Take sometime today. Trust in the Lord. Talk with Him. Pray for the lost. He will answer.
