The second obstacle that keeps us from benefiting in our relationship with God is Pride-- It prevents us from glorifying Him.
If we recall the list of what hinders us from fullying loving Him and experiencing God's love it is as follows:
  1. Unbelief- hinders us from knowing God
  2. Pride- prevents us from glorifying God
  3. Idolatry- keeps us from being satisfied with God
  4. Prayerlessness- blocks our experience of God's peace
  5. Legalism- stops our enjoyment of God"

-Beth Moore, Breaking Free

Glory can be a hard concept to grasp- but God is glory.  He is mighty and divine-- worthy of all praise and recognition.  The first definition good-old Webster offers says it correctly --renownFollowed by eternal.  That is GOD.
An analogy that I was once told is that if God is the sun the source of all light, power, energy, majesty then we are merely like the moon.  Cold hard rocks with a dusty and cratered surface.  Dull and ugly by ourselves, but when we reflect Christ-- as when the moon reflects the light of the sun-- it radiates! It shines bright in darkness and appears to have it's own light.  It is beautiful.  But the moon in fact does not have it's own the light; it merely reflects the magnitude and brightness of the sun.  In a sense it GLORIFIES it.
That is how we must live our lives--- reflections of God's magnitude, power, truth, light, life and love.... it is not of anything we are but what we are because of Him.  We are called to be humbled as mere rocky crater moon dust that reflects God's light in the darkness making Him known in the darkness to all those all those that do not know Him.
Whether we "get it" or "like it" our job on this planet is to bring Him glory-- NOT OURSELVES.  That requires fully surrendering ourselves & submitting to His will and plans-- it requires humility and obedience.  It requires GETTING OVER YOURSELF!
Sound harsh? well until we realize that we are NOTHING without Him then we cannot fullying Glorify Him-- and in the end that will bring us the most purest happiness & joy possible.

Colossians 3:2-4
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
We have a God that deserves to be glorified  and thank God that He wants the best for us & will even share His glory with us!!!!!
.. yes He promises to share His glory!

Romans 8 tells us that we are children of God and co-heirs with Christ.  We will share in Christ's glory someday!
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Present Suffering and Future Glory
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us...For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Are you fully glorifying Christ through your thoughts and actions?
Is Christ recognizable through you?
Do people see the love and truth of Christ in your daily walk? or do you blend into this world?
If you know Christ, then you are set-apart; so show it!
Have you suffered lately for His Glory??
How can you glorify the Lord today?
